Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common logistical and fit questions. If you don't see what you're looking for, feel free to ask when you reach out.
Getting started
Do I need to have a specific diagnosis to begin therapy?
No. People begin therapy for many reasons, including anxiety, relationship concerns, identity questions, stress, grief, self-worth, life transitions, and a desire to understand themselves more deeply.
What happens during the first session?
The first session is an opportunity to discuss what brought you in, your history, current concerns, and what you hope to gain from therapy. You will not be expected to disclose every difficult experience immediately.
How do I know whether we are a good fit?
A good therapeutic fit involves feeling respected, understood, and able to engage honestly. You can use the initial sessions to notice whether my approach feels aligned with what you need.
How long does therapy take?
There is no fixed timeline. Some clients attend for a defined period to address a specific concern; others continue longer-term. We will check in regularly about your goals.
Logistics
Do you offer online therapy?
Yes. Telehealth is available to clients physically located in Idaho at the time of the session.
Where is your office located?
Nova Collective Therapy is located at 3080 Gentry Way, Ste 110, Meridian, ID 83642.
Do you work with teens?
No. I work exclusively with adults ages 18 and older.
Payment
Do you accept my insurance?
Nova Collective accepts select plans, listed on the Fees & Insurance page. Because credentialing status and effective dates matter, reach out directly to confirm whether your specific plan is currently accepted.
What if my insurance is not accepted?
You are welcome to pay privately at the listed rate, or I can provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement, depending on your plan.
How do I know what my insurance will cover?
Contact the member services number on your insurance card and ask about outpatient mental health benefits, copay or coinsurance amounts, deductible status, and any session limits.
Do you offer sliding-scale fees?
Yes. Nova Collective offers a limited scholarship program with reduced-fee spots for clients experiencing financial hardship. Availability varies, so ask when you reach out.
Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes. New clients can schedule a free 20-minute consultation to ask questions and see whether working together feels like a good fit before booking a first session.
Safety & privacy
Is this a crisis service?
No. Nova Collective does not provide emergency or crisis response through the website, email, voicemail, or client portal. Call or text 988, call 911, or go to the nearest emergency department when immediate support is needed.
Is what I share confidential?
Confidentiality is a core part of therapy, with specific legal exceptions related to safety that are reviewed during intake.
